Paris Academy for the Arts is proud to announce the show opening reception for nationally known artist Prescott Smith. The date at the opening is February 18th from 2 to 4 PM.
Originally from New Orleans Louisiana, a professional artist for over 50 years, Prescott Smith was a modern art sculptor and painter with a national reputation. He trained with John McCrady and sculptor Ted Egri.
Smith’s work Is primarily made from stainless steel featuring faces, sometimes sculpted in clay. Paintings are very reminiscent of Joan Miro, the work is brightly colored, featuring many unique and abstract figures.
Prescott’s works are owned and have been featured in many national modern art museums Including; centennial arts Center, Nashville, TN, The Alice Bingham Art Gallery, Memphis Tennessee, Jacksonville Museum of Modern Art ,Jacksonville, Florida, Actors Repertory Theater, Garden of Arts, Bellingham, Washington, San Jose, California, Sculpture International, Palo Alto, California, Ambience Fine Art Gallery, Nashville, Tennessee and many others.
The show will be up in the Paris Academy for the arts gallery until April 27.
