English Paper Piecing

English Paper Piecing is a hand sewing class for a patchwork technique that uses templates to make interesting shapes. The class will use the hexagon shape and we will discuss other shapes as well as fabric selection, thread, needles, and stitch techniques. This method of piecing a quilt has been popular since the 1800’s and was publicized in the US by Godey’s magazine. It remains very popular today and is a great way to use scraps of fabric to make beautiful creations from small pouches to quilts. Class participants are free to bring fabrics or you use what will be provided. We will supply templates, needles, glue and thread. Cost is $35 per student.
