Beginning Sewing

In beginning sewing we will get comfortable with a sewing machine by learning how it works, how to take care of it, when to change the needle, how to line up fabric for stitching and many more things. You will learn lots of tips that will help you get comfortable with your machine and get you started on a fun hobby. We will also cover reading a pattern, getting familiar with sewing terms and basic sewing knowledge. Just bring your machine and basic supplies like scissors, pins, thread, etc. It is best to learn on the machine you’ll be using at home, but if you don’t have a machine let the instructor know and one will be supplied for class. We will make a very simple project for you to take home.
